The new CD by Scott Martin is a Brazilian flavored jazz affair that sounds beautiful. His soulful, impeccable saxophone and flute work really shines here on these Brazilian songs. With the help of his band, these tunes really shine in a beautiful setting full of exotic flavors and a harmonically rich landscape.
The new CD is titled “Only Trust Your Heart”, and is a musical treat full of great jazz playing in Brazilian rhythms. Mark Massey on piano and keyboards shines throughout, playing some intricate and soulful solos. Rick White on guitar is also a standout contributing compositions as well as beautiful guitar playing.
The tunes on this CD really capture the Brazilian moves of Stan Getz, yet in a more contemporary fashion. Scott Martin can really play some great saxophone, as well as some beautiful flute. This CD is a great showcase for his talents as a woodwind player.
This CD is highly recommended to add to your collection. This is Scott Martin’s fifth release on the SCM record label and I’m sure it will prove to be one of his most popular. Great playing by all the players involved.
